Long Beach Job Corps Center is located in Long Beach, California, just a short drive from downtown. The lushly landscaped 17-acre campus is nestled between neighborhoods. There are bus stops nearby for access to downtown, beaches, and local points of interest.
In March of 1994, Secretary of Labor Robert Reich announced that nine new Job Corps centers would be opening across the country, and in 1998, one of those—the Long Beach Job Corps Center—opened the doors to its first students.
Our campus' residential living facilities can house 131 male students and 229 female students in two coed dorms. Residential students live with three roommates and enjoy the following amenities:
- laundry facilities
- TV lounges
- vending machines
- bathrooms and showers
Student leader rooms are available for students who qualify. We also serve nonresidential students.
Our Child Development Center is run through Head Start/Early Head Start. Please check with our admissions counselor for more details.
Students stay in separate male and female dormitories. There are two students in each dorm room. Your room will be assigned to you upon arrival at the center.
Job Corps values diversity and will provide you with opportunities to live and interact with people of many different backgrounds.
