Interview For Eligibility

Your Admissions Representative will connect with you to share more information about the program, as well as go over some questions together to make sure Job Corps is the best option for you. Remember to answer honestly—these questions are part of determining your eligibility for the program.

Some of these questions will likely include:

What is your education and employment history?

What opportunities do you want to get through coming to Job Corps?

How do you feel about following rules and requirements?

Have you ever worked as part of a team or group?

Keep in mind: Your Admissions Representative may ask to meet in person to ask final questions.

Pro Tip: Reach out to your Admissions Representative to schedule or reschedule any interviews/meetings.

Explore Career Paths.

This is also a good opportunity to take some time to explore which career training paths are the best fit for you. Talk with your Admissions Rep about your interests—they can help you get a head start.

3 Application Review

Admissions Review

Your Admissions Representative will let you know if you are eligible for Job Corps.

Your Admissions Representative may contact you for more information and/or questions.

Your Admissions Representative will request a background check.

Keep in mind: On average, the background check takes one to two weeks for processing. Once your Admissions Representative receives the background check results, they'll be able to confirm eligibility.

You will receive an initial offer to join the program, but it must be additionally approved by a campus to make it official.

Campus Review.

Your Admissions Representative will assign your application to a Job Corps campus for final review.

Campus staff will review your information and make sure they are the best fit for you.

This step in the process takes about 30 days.

The campus reviewing your application is based on the campus closest to you and/or based on your requested training area. If you are unsure of your training area as you apply for Job Corps, that's OK! Once you're officially accepted to Job Corps and on campus, you will work with campus staff to determine the right career path for you.
