CONSTRUCTION
Learn how to apply your basic training to support disaster survivors at the local, state, national, tribal, and territorial levels, conduct disaster site inspections, implement emergency protective measures, and repair disaster-related damage. And, you’ll learn how to stop damage before it starts with hazard mitigation measures taken during the recovery process.

Skills
Students in Advanced Emergency Management are trained in the following subject areas:
- Learn how to visit damaged facilities and ensure incident-related damage is accurately recorded.
- Conduct virtual site inspections.
- Establish and maintain positive working conditions with disaster survivors and communities.
- Fulfill requests for supplies, equipment, personnel, teams, services, or commodities.
Requirements
Before entering the program, students must:
- A written recommendation from Job Corps center personnel
- Be at least 18 or 21 years old. (varies by state)
- Complete a Job Corps basic career technical training program.
- Complete the core curriculum with passing scores on all written and performance tests.
- Meet basic academic requirements in math and reading.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a valid driver’s license or no barriers to receiving a license while enrolled.
- Complete a successful phone, in-person, or videoconference interview.
