Edison Job Corps Center is located on a 25-acre campus in Edison, New Jersey, just a short drive from Newark. The center has both residential and nonresidential students.
Before it was the Edison Job Corps Center, our site was part of Camp Kilmer, a former U.S. Army camp that was activated in June 1942 as a staging area. Camp Kilmer eventually became the largest processing center for troops heading overseas and returning from World War II, processing over 2.5 million soldiers. A Job Corps center opened on the site on February 11, 1965, and still uses some of Camp Kilmer’s original barracks, the chapel, and post flag pole.
Our campus' residential living facilities can house 295 male students in two dorms and 220 female students in one dorm. Bathrooms are communal for all dorms. Honor dorms are available to students who qualify. Residential students live with up to five roommates and enjoy the following amenities:
- laundry facilities
- TV lounges
- vending machines
- bathrooms and showers
We also serve nonresidential students.
Students stay in separate male and female dormitories. There are up to six students to each dorm room. Your room will be assigned to you upon arrival at the center.
Job Corps values diversity and will provide you with opportunities to live and interact with people of many different backgrounds.
