Whitney M. Young Jr. Job Corps Center is located on the former site of the Lincoln Institute, a boarding school for African-Americans which operated from 1912-1966. The center first opened in 1972 and is named in honor of Whitney M. Young Jr., a leader of the civil rights movement, who was also a graduate of the Lincoln Institute.
Our campus' residential living facilities can house 205 male students in three dorms and 175 female students in two dorms. Residential students live with three roommates and enjoy the following amenities:
- laundry facilities

Independent living advisers are on-site to help make dorm life safe, clean, and productive for students. We also serve nonresidential students.
Students stay in separate male and female dormitories. There are up to four students in each dorm room. Your room will be assigned to you upon arrival at the center.
Job Corps values diversity and will provide you with opportunities to live and interact with people of many different backgrounds.
