The San Diego Job Corps Center is located in an urban residential area on 27 acres in Imperial Beach, California, the most southwesterly city in the U.S. It is adjacent to San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, the busiest international border in the world.
In 1978, the Department of Labor obtained a lease for a set of buildings on the Naval Outlying Landing Field Imperial Beach, a naval facility that had been in military operation in some form or another since 1917. In 1979, those buildings became the San Diego Job Corps Center.
Our campus' residential living facilities can house 300 male students in seven dorms and 218 female students in five dorms. Residential students live with up to three roommates and enjoy the following amenities:
- laundry facilities
- computer labs
- TV lounges
- bathrooms and showers
We also serve nonresidential students.
Students stay in separate male and female dormitories. There are up to three students in each dorm room. Your room will be assigned to you upon arrival at the center.
Job Corps values diversity and will provide you with opportunities to live and interact with people of many different backgrounds.
