The Los Angeles Job Corps Center was one of the first centers to open when the program first started in 1964, and the YWCA Greater Los Angeles has been its continuous corporate contractor from the very beginning.
The Los Angeles Job Corps has remained strong since those early days and has weathered a variety of challenges over the years to realize the Job Corps mission. As students graduate, 90% are placed prior to exit. This means they are either employed, continuing their education, or signed up for the military service.
The Los Angeles Job Corps ranks in the top 20% of centers nationally. This is especially outstanding because the center is operated by a single center contractor and a nonprofit. Through the guidance of the YWCA Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Job Corps is positively impacting our community by shaping well-rounded, future employees who are focused, professional, and job-ready.
